if you refrigerate them keep them tight. make sure they cant move. they wont die that way

early in the year march, april they'll last 2-3 days if kept in a walkin cooler or a refrig setting turned to warmer setting.

In may and June they'll last 4-5 days kept cold.
However dont put them in an ice chest and put ice on the bottom and ice on top.. Crawfish will sit in the water and die. Refrig is your best bet

I took 15 sacks to Alabama for a crawfish boil at my friend's house last summer. I got left BR on Thursday morning and when we boiled them Saturday night, there were very few dead even though it was hot as hell. I kept them in the sacks and kept ice on top of them for the drive there. After I got there, we kept a mist of water from the hose on them until the boil. Just don't submerge them in water while they're in the sacks because they will drown.

Layer of ice on the bottom of an ice chest covered with a garbage bag to keep the direct cold from coming in contact with the crawfish.

Elevate the icechest on one end and unscrew the drain to allow the frozen ice to escape.

Close the lid.

They will last for a long time this way.

This and drain the Ice Chest often (If you can tilt the chest and leave the drain plug open, this is the bast way).

Did this, this weekend. got them earliy Friday... boiled some late friday evening saved half and left them in same condition as described here all day saturday until late saturday evening when I boiled the rest and had very few dead...
